Our Story

Black Bayou Coffee Roasters was founded in November of 2020 by Jeremy Bohnenkamp. They began roasting in June of 2021 immediately following the initial construction of the roasting house. Since then, Black Bayou Coffee Roasters has experienced a steady incline in both business and popularity.

Jeremy’s philosophy on coffee is that it should be smooth, enjoyable, and free of the bitter taste that many other coffees share. Jeremy has fifteen years of experience as a coffee roaster and ran a successful coffee company for thirteen years before deciding to strike out on his own with Black Bayou Coffee Roasters. His goal for the company is to create the absolute best coffee in the world.

In an industry that is constantly growing and changing, Black Bayou Coffee Roasters is always growing as well. In their first year of business, they roasted twelve thousand pounds of coffee, averaging a thousand pounds per month. Currently, Black Bayou Coffee Roasters roasts up to nine hundred pounds per week and shows no signs of slowing down.

People can also enjoy Black Bayou Coffee Roasters coffee at one of the high-end restaurants that are lucky enough to offer it such as 2Johns Steakhouse, Jack Binions Steakhouse inside the Horseshoe Casino and resort, and Cypress By The Revenir.
